Highlights: Sainte-Chapelle Concert Series

Located on the île-de-la-Cité, just minutes from Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Sainte-Chapelle is one of France's most visited monuments. Although this is the case, only a fraction of the million visitors who pass through the chapel's ornately carved doors each year have the privilege of attending an exclusive classical concert on the other side. The gloriously elaborate Sainte-Chapelle is a pearl of Gothic French architecture. Spend an evening marvelling at the Sainte-Chapelle's vaulted ceilings and stained-glass panelling – all while enjoying the harmonious sounds of violins and cellos from some of the finest classical composers in Paris.

Luminosity and enlightenment
A concert in this breathtaking venue is a moment of peace and calm, and the sound of the music is amplified by the splendour of the setting.

Wonderful venue for a concert
We attended a chamber music concert at sunset, and had the astounding experience of listening to Vivaldi and Bach while watching the light fade behind the stunning stained glass windows.

Excellent. The Sainte-Chapelle is gorgeous, the setting is magnificent and the music is magical. The chamber music was thrilling.

A very good evening

A beautiful concert, in a divine location, the Sainte Chapelle, followed by a dinner in a bistro that was a real find,"les fous de l'Ile". The welcome was lovely, the cuisine inventive and modern with traditional flavors. A real success.

Magical historical evening

I thought the ambiance, location and concert were incredible. We were very sensitive to the location and the history of the Sainte-Chapelle but seeing a concert in it made it all more special. I wish we had been given a program instead of having to purchase it.

Not to be missed

Wonderful evening

Excellent concert! Everything was beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of it! The only thing was that the weather was very hot and the Sainte-Chapelle doesn’t have ventilation.

Sandra Cecilia
Concert in a jewel venue

Beautiful music in a beautiful setting! The musicians were very talented and the acoustics in the chapel were outstanding. The concert lasted for 1 hour. Definitely worth the price of admission.

History and Fun Facts about the Sainte-Chapelle

Paris’ Sainte-Chapelle (Holy Chapel) is one of the finest remaining examples of Gothic French architecture. Built in the early 13th century, Sainte-Chapelle is a prime example of the 'Rayonnant' Gothic style, characterized by its focus on intricate decoration and stunning stained glass, emphasizing detail over size. The chapel formed part of the medieval Palais de la Cité, where the French monarchy resided until the 14th Century. It was originally built to house Louis IX’s priceless collection of relics, including the Crown of Thorns of Christ, one of Christianity’s most cherished artefacts. Although damaged during the French Revolution, the chapel was restored to its shimmering prime thanks to a major renovation during the 19th century.

Much of the chapel’s current appearance reflects the vision and craftsmanship of its skilled restorers over the years. But two thirds of the chapel’s most distinctive element, its magnificent stained glass panelling, are completely authentic. With 15 windows that stretch to 15 meters high, the Sainte Chapelle contains one of the most extensive collections of stained-glass anywhere in the world. Its panels depict a total of 1,113 scenes from both the Old and New Testament. This vibrant array of scenes and colors was undoubtedly designed to be the centerpiece of the chapel’s intricate interior, yet its non-stained glass walls are also richly colored and beautifully adorned.. Equally impressive is the chapel’s high vaulted ceiling, painted deep blue and gold to resemble the night sky. Each year, the Sainte Chapelle hosts a diverse programme of classical concerts and recitals: as a unique Parisian show venue, things don’t get more atmospheric than this!

I bought a Youth Rate or Student Rate ticket in the same order as my Category 1 ticket, will my group be seated together?

There are two categories available at the Sainte-Chapelle, Category 1 and 2. Youth Rate (under 10) or Student Rate (under 26) tickets will be automatically placed in Category 2. However, if the order containing a Youth or Student Rate ticket has a majority of tickets in Category 1, all tickets of that order will be placed in Category 1.
Please note that this does not apply for purchases with a fewer or equal number of Category 1 tickets unless the order contains a single ticket for Category 1 and a single Youth Rate (under 10) or Student Rate (under 26) ticket. In this exceptional case, your two tickets will be placed in Category 1.
In any case, our team will ensure that all tickets booked during the same purchase session, in the same booking order on our website are always assigned side by side.

My premium ticket includes wine and tapas, where can I receive them?

When choosing your performance date, you have the option to purchase a show-only ticket, a ticket with wine and tapas, and/or a ticket with a glass of champagne included.
